In less than a week Dallas will be graced (yet again) with Urban Acres Steward’s Dinner, an event going on its third year that grants local foodies the opportunity to sit down and truly enjoy what food is REALLY all about. Taking place in the new Cafe Momentum space Downtown and with special guest, author, speaker, and holistic farmer Joel Salatin, in the mix, this is sure to be an evening that will be remembered for years to come.
According to their website, “a Steward is someone who manages or looks after the earth – from the farmers who grow and raise our food, to the chefs who prepare beautifully creative dishes with these local ingredients, to guests like you who gather around the table to share a meal from this community.”
Utilizing ingredients donated by Urban Acres purveyors, Dallas’ most sought after chefs including Graham Dodds of Hibiscus, Julian Barsotti of Nonna, Chad Houser and Eric Shelton of Cafe Momentum, Katherine Clapner of Dude, Sweet Chocolate, Matt Ford and Greg Bussey of Americano inside The Joule and Sharon Hage of Farm to Fork Consulting will collaborate to serve a plated, four course, sit-down dinner for guests to enjoy.
The Steward’s Dinner is essentially the kick-off party for the following days sōl Conference, an educational event that will help attendees learn how to best utilize “sustainable, organic and local” items in their every day lives. This year Chipotle is a sponsor of both the Steward’s Dinner AND the sōl Conference. With Chipotle‘s strong commitment to serving Food With Integrity, joining Urban Acres and Joel Salatin to further educate the importance of serving the best ingredients from responsible farms with respect to animals is the perfect partnership!
