Brunching at Cedar Grove

If you are yet to visit the Oak Lawn neighborhood gem, Cedar Grove, you are seriously missing out! One of the sexiest spots design wise that I’ve acknowledged in quite some time, Cedar Grove is gaining momentum as a “must-try” restaurant and today we are here to jump on that bandwagon as well.  Last weekend we had the opportunity to come in and try out the incredible brunch that Cedar Grove offers and it was nothing short of a magical time. From the second we walked through the door, we were greeted with uber friendly faces, a sprawling bar that screamed “come drink at me, please” and a menu that all but had us drooling all over ourselves.

With the most important decision of the weekend, that being where to brunch, fast approaching us, we had to share some of the highlights from our epic meal. After all, with food this good it would be a crime not to share the love with y’all!

Risqué Frosé: frozen rosé wine, patrón citronage lime, aperol and citrus

Grove Skinny Mule: new Amsterdam vodka, lime, top hat ginger beer – by the way, the Grove Skinny Mule is ON TAP

Jolly Rancher Snowcone: stoli vodka, watermelon cordial, sour apple pucker and sour patch kids

Crispy Tempura Calamari with Meyer lemon aioli, buffalo sauce, peppers and herbs – quite possibly the most stunning presentation of calamari in town

Honey-Butter Chicken Biscuit: crisp chicken, Randall’s biscuit

Bagel & Lox: smoked salmon, everything bagel, traditional accompaniment

Steak & Eggs with potato hash, two eggs your style, hollandaise and crispy onion

Mmmmmhmmm, now do you see what all of the buzz is about? If you think the food looks good just think about actually eating it! On top of what we ordered, brunch at Cedar Grove also offers an omelet bar, insane looking desserts (shout out to the S’Mores Sundae) and the last Sunday of every month there is a can’t miss DRAG BRUNCH that is a whale of a time for all.

So, what are you waiting for? Cedar Grove is accepting reservations for Saturday and Sunday brunch right now! Although we are yet to be in for dinner, if the brunch is any idea of what dinner service is like that is a sure-fire hit, too!
