It’s something East Dallas residents have been begging for for years now. A culinary scene that didn’t involve fast food or grabbing a sandwich from Whole Foods. Now, don’t get me wrong, the cases at Whole Foods are my jam but as an East Dallas resident, it’s our time to shine when it comes to dining out.
With the addition of several restaurants over the last few years, none other was quite as exciting as the opening of McKinney favorite, Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen.
Nestled in the heart of Lakewood, Sugarbacon serves up sexy Southern fare in an approachable way.
During a recent visit, we had such a fabulous time, it only seemed fair that we spread the love with y’all. Whether you’ve been to Sugarbacon or not, here are some of our absolutely favorites that we consider “must-try” times.

Recently, Sugarbacon launched their brunch menu and while, we haven’t personally tried it yet, the other items are always so delicious that it’s a sure-fire bet that the brunch menu is just as mind-blowing.
