REVISIT: Savor Gastropub

It’s no secret that Klyde Warren Park is one of the highlights of this great city of ours.  On top of being extremely unique, Klyde Warren is a place for locals and tourists alike and we’re lucky enough to have an absolutely stunning restaurant built within it.

Although Savor Gastropub has been open for a few years now, it remains a staple on the Dallas food scene and just gets better with age.  Recently, I stopped in to see what the restaurant was up to and try out some of the new menu items that were just released and I can happily report back that it is still as delicious as ever.

Aside from having one of the absolute best locations in town, Savor Gastropub offers fresh food with a unique twist and, of course, the fact that they have wine on tap doesn’t hurt either.  If you’ve followed me for a decent amount of time now, you know that something that I can’t emphasize enough in the restaurant industry is consistency and how too many restaurants aren’t able to deliver that.  Not here at Savor!  Truly, each time I visit is better than the next and with Executive Chef, John Coleman, and his 23 years of experience leading the pack, it is aging just like a fine wine.

Of course, Savor Gastropub still offers their usual favorites but the revamped menu includes Crispy Pork Belly Steamed Buns, Rabbit and Pork Dumplings, Ahi Tuna Poke, and so much more.  Let’s talk about some of the items that we consider “can’t miss” when it comes to a visit to Savor, shall we?

KRIMSON ROSE: Zephyr Gin, Pear Simple, Rosé, Lemon

LOBSTER PUFFS: Maine Lobster & Comté Fritter, Remoulade

PAN ROASTED SALMON: Parsnip Purée, Pear and Fennel Chutney, Watercress, “Snip Chip”

PAN ROASTED GULF REDFISH: Fingerling Potato Hash, Mole Verde, Shaved Broccoli Salad

CRISPY POTATO GNOCCHI: Swiss Chard, Fennel, Hazelnuts, Sage, Brown Butter

MAPLE SOAKED BEEF TENDERLOIN: Butternut Squash Purée, Hedgehog Mushrooms, Ricotta Horseradish Dumplings, Steak Sauce

CITRUS COMPOSITION: Citrus Curd, Yogurt Creameux, Olive Oil Citrus Cake, Pistachio Tuile, Blood Orange Sorbet

I know I am!

As if you needed another reason to stop into Savor Gastropub, they are firm believers in giving back to our community, too.  Each Monday from 3pm-7pm, a portion of the revenue is donated directly to Genesis Women’s Shelter which, if you aren’t already familiar, is an incredible organization in town that provides “safety, shelter and support for women who have experienced domestic violence, and to raise awareness regarding its cause, prevalence and impact.”

With restaurants popping up left and right each week, it is important to remember those that are tried and true and for us, that has been and will continue to be Savor Gastropub.  You can’t seem to go wrong with anything you order here and they are constantly putting on specialty dinners, hosting live music series out on their spacious patio or even offering special pre-show menus for those who are enjoying one of the many happenings in the Arts District.

Whether it is your first time or your 500th time, be sure to stop into Savor and try out their new menu items and revisit some classic favorites. I single-handedly guarantee that it will not disappoint!
