The rise of Henderson Avenue continues with the addition of sexy Global cuisine-focused, Smithy! With the team from Downtown favorite, The Woolworth, at the helm, Smithy is exactly what Henderson needed..and we didn’t even know it!
Aside from having a super hip and chic patio that leads to their simple and stunning main dining room, Smithy has Chef Ronald Von Hatten leading the way with his creative dishes and Mike Hernandez developing the cocktails at the bar.
Now, I’m all for a good piece of history and Smithy has it! Named after Henry Potter’s Ironworks Shop which was originally housed in the space that Smithy now occupies. So, why name it Smithy? Smithy is the old-world nickname for blacksmith! DUH. Get it now? I love it.
With their doors opening just a few short weeks ago, Smithy is only open for dinner service at the moment but plans to incorporate lunch and brunch aren’t too far away. After all, what is Dallas’ latest hot spot if brunch isn’t involved, right?
We were able to be some of the first to stop in for a meal during opening weekend and right away I labeled it as the opening weekend of a staple. With its epic location, stunning decor, fabulous food, and an approachable experience, Smithy is going to be around for years to come. MARK. MY. WORDS.
There were some serious highlights from our visit to Smithy so let’s chat about those, shall we?
Pretty solid, right?

Now that patio season has officially arrived, we can’t wait to take a deeper dive into the food and cocktail menu here Smithy. Trust us…you’ll want to do the same!
